The EqualVoice-Assistant

An AI-powered tool for detecting bias in text

Reduce biased language in real time – with a tool proven across over 32,000 articles per month in Ringier newsrooms. Launched to external partners in November 2025, and available to everyone in January 2026.

Why the EqualVoice-Assistant?

Stories and content shape how we see the world. Many texts contain unconscious bias or stereotypical portrayals – with a clear impact: they influence which voices become visible and which remain unseen.

Biased language can appear anywhere: in marketing and communications, in HR texts, in presentations, on social media or in editorial content – in short, in any text that reaches people.

The EqualVoice-Assistant helps to make content more conscious, balanced and inclusive right from the drafting stage. It sets a new standard for fair and representative communication – and helps more diverse voices become visible.

Your benefits

Our AI-powered tool analyses text in real time and makes visible where wording may unintentionally reinforce stereotypes or render certain groups invisible. Through an intuitive interface, content can be added directly and feedback is provided immediately. This makes the EqualVoice-Assistant a quick, integrated step in the content creation process: bias is reduced, language becomes more inclusive – and users’ awareness grows with every text.

Detects bias in real time

The EqualVoice-Assistant highlights passages that contain role patterns, assumptions or unbalanced portrayals of people.

Explains the results

For each highlighted section, a short explanation of why it stands out and what type of bias may be presented is given. Feedback becomes a learning moment.

Offers concrete improvements

Based on this feedback, the EqualVoice-Assistant suggests actionable ways to adjust wording to communicate more inclusively – without compromising speed or quality.

Who can use the EqualVoice-Assistant

Originally developed for journalists, the EqualVoice-Assistant supports balanced and inclusive communication across a wide range of contexts – from media organisations to individual users:
